Thyroid Disorders
Millions of people suffer from thyroid disorders worldwide. Thyroxine hormone is produced by the thyroid gland located just below the Adam’s apple in the neck. It regulates many bodily functions and its over or underproduction leads to Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism respectively. Malfunctioning of this gland can cause adenomas and thyroid cancer.
Pituitary Disorders
This gland controls other endocrine glands. Empty sella syndrome, acromegaly and hypopituitarism are some disorders created by the hypo or hyperactivity of pituitary gland.
Adrenal Disorders
Adrenal glands are triangular shaped and located on top of the kidneys, interconnected with the pituitary gland and hypothalamus. If there is an insufficient production of hormones, then Addision’s disease can occur which is potentially life-threatening.
Lipid Disorders
The bloodstream circulates lipoproteins or lipids or LDL (low density lipoprotein), HDL or (high density lipoprotein) and triglycerides. Lipid disorders result in plaque formation in arteries posing a risk for stroke and heart attack.
These disorders can be treated with medicines but if plaque deposits cause arterial blockage, then certain minimally-invasive treatments may be recommended to prevent any danger to your health. In India, these surgeries are available at an affordable cost with excellent facilities and pre-and post-procedure care.
Menstrual and gonadal disorders
Reproductive hormones are secreted by gonads- testes in males and ovaries in females. Whenever there is a dysfunction in the reproductive hormones, then menstrual and gonadal disorders occur. You should not neglect menstrual disorders such as light or very heavy menstrual flow, and missed periods. This requires medical attention as they may affect fertility. Dysfunction of testosterone can lead to male infertility.
